Beautiful, hand painted John Deere, Christmas Ball Ornament by Walter Haskell Hinton. This is the first in a collectable series of ornaments from 1990's. Ornament features two young children looking into a 1940's John Deere Dealership.
Walter Haskell Hinton first worked for the John Deere company in 1926. He was an illustrator who worked for an advertising agent in Chicago and lived in Chicago for most of his life and knew about farming. He made a calander for John Deere in 1937 and helped design the leaping deer graphic still used today.
Ball measures about 4" across including cap. Box measures approximately 5" x 5" x 5-1/2"
Ornament is in very good previously owned condition, in original box.
