Early 1900's Post Office Wooden Mail Sorter Cabinet Cubbies , Antique Cubby Storage Cabinet
This is an awesome antique Wooden Mail Sorting Cabinet from a local post office in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. It dates back to the early 1900's, and features 42 Cubbies. It was made from wood and steel "wire rods" which I believe are the bottoms of the mail cubicles, but I am not certain which direction the cabinet was place when in use. It is an awesome old cabinet with endless possibilities!
Overall Cabinet Measurements: 18-1/2" wide, 8-1/4" deep, and 33-1/2" tall. 21 (or half) of the cubbies measure 4-1/2" x 3" x 8" deep, and the other half measure 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" x 8-1/4" deep.
It is in good solid condition with no structural damage or rotted wood. A couple small piece of wood broken off which is shown in the photos, and relatively minor cosmetic wear and patina is present throughout. This is an awesome old postal cabinet that is in great shape for its age!
