This is a nice, original 1930's adjustable piano stool, manufactured by A. Merriam Co. of Mass. USA. Features include iron claw and glass ball feet, and a concave seat, designed for added comfort. Seat height is adjustable from approximately 18-1/2" to 22". Stool turn screw plate is marked "A. Merriam Co. Mass. USA".
This stool is in good solid condition, sturdy legs, ready for daily use. Seat "adjusting screw" works with ease. Simply turn seat left or right, to raise or lower as desired. The seat has some mild wobble when raised in the higher positions, which is the case with most of these adjustable stools. The patina / painted areas on the wood, may have been purposely added by a previous owner. This stool is not perfect, but it is a nice, solid stool, with lots of life remaining. A wonderful example of quality and craftsmanship from this time period.
Measures approximately 14-1/2" across at the seat, and height is adjustable from 18-1/2" to 22".
