Handmade, wooden skiff boat by Len Burchum. Called a "Barnegat Bay sneakbox boat", because they are traditionally used in Barnegat Bay in New Jersey for hunting waterfowl. Also commonly used on the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. Bottom is marked, Len Burchum.
I believe this was made by Lenoard Burcham, a woodcarver from Havre de Grace, Maryland. He carved wooden duck decoys as well as constructing wooden, model boats. He was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter, frequently hunting ducks and geese. He started carving duck decoys in 1970 and later on he started making boat models from the wood scraps left over from carving ducks. He makes only boats that are used on the Chesapeake Bay.
