1900's Victorian Era Wall Sconce Light: Electric Gas Combination

An original late 1800's Victorian era nickel plated gas and electric combination wall sconce light fixture, removed from a home in historic West Chester Pennsylvania. Transitional sconces mark the time when electricity was new and "unreliable", so gaslight capability was maintained as a backup to the uncertain performance of electricity. Nickel plated lights were often placed in the areas that needed to be "sanitary", such as kitchens and bathrooms.

CONDITION: The original patina on the fixture remains as it was when we acquired it, and could possibly be polished if desired. The finish shows age appropriate cosmetic wear, but the overall condition is pretty good. Fixture has received new wiring, and is ready to install. There are a couple of small blemishes on the frosted part of the shade, but there are no cracks, chips, etc.

Measurements: Approx. 5-1/2" wide x 10" tall. Projection from the wall to the outer edge of the glass shade is 8"
