This is an original, authentic, Victorian era nickel plated gas and electric combination wall sconce light fixture, removed from a home in historic West Chester Pennsylvania. Victorians would have called this a "bracket" or "wall bracket" light fixture. We know them as sconces. Transitional sconces mark the time when electricity was new and "unreliable", so you kept your gaslight capability as a backup. Nickel plated lights were often placed in the areas that needed to be "sanitary", such as kitchens and bathrooms.
Measurements: Approx. 9" wide x 9" tall. Projection from the wall to the outer edge of the gas valve is approx. 6"
Condition: Sconce fixture is in nice condition overall, free of structural damage. The nickel plated finish shows some normal wear, but free of significant blemishes. The patina on the fixture remains as it was when we acquired it, and will need a good cleaning. Fixture has not been tested and is being sold as is.
