This is a unique, 14" industrial cast iron gear with a double set of teeth, which was removed from an old farm implement. It is called a finger till closing wheel, and was designed to break up the clumps of soil, as it pushed the soil into the trench to cover the seeds. "Finger Till" is embossed on the one side. This would make an awesome piece of wall art just as it is, or use it to create a one of a kind lamp or sculpture. It would also be perfect for the garden or patio as well!
Gear measure approx. 14" in diameter x approx. 1-1/4" thick at the edge where the teeth are. The hole in the center measures 5/8".
Awesome patina, with some surface rust throughout. There are no breaks or other structural damage.
