This is a 1950's Elkhorn Getzen Trumpet, w/ the original case. The inscription on the outside of the bell reads "ELKHORN A Division of Getzen, Elkhorn Wis." The serial number is 94652, which dates this instrument circa mid 1950's. Any Getzen instrument that was produced prior to 1963, is difficult to date with complete certainty, due to a devastating fire at the Getzen plant, which destroyed all of the production records.
This trumpet is in pretty decent cosmetic shape overall. Some areas of tarnish, and light surface rust is present as shown in the photos. The valve springs should probably be replaced, as well as the water-key pad. A complete service / maintenance of this instrument is recommended, as we have very limited knowledge regarding the mechanical condition of musical instruments.
